People say that babies have a one track mind. There is also speculation as to whether young babies are able to dream. See clip and make up your own mind....
PS. Latest weight 12lb - a gain of 13oz over 6 days.

Grins on the playmat
Here is some evidence of how happy Charlie is and how much he likes his playmat at the moment. It's pretty difficult to catch these smiles on camera! The next task is to catch his hysterical cackle on video. He laughs really suddenly at random things like light-switches or picture-frames. We did manage to capture some footage of him sucking an imaginary boob while he was asleep. I do hope to upload that soon.

Hatton Country World and latest weight
We went to Hatton Country World at the weekend and had our first mini picnic with Charlie, who had a feed outside in the open! He looks really chubby in these photos. I'm sure he's not quite that round in real life. He was weighed today and only put on 5oz in the last week, which takes him to a healthy 11lb 3oz (of which hair makes up only 20%).
I can't believe he's already over a month old, although he does look much "older" than in the early photos of him. Lindz has started going to baby clubs this week and has really enjoyed them. Charlie is the centre of attention as he is younger than the other tiny tots.
There's a prize for anyone who can spot me in one of the following 3 photos.

Weight, travels, football and baby-wearing
Charlie is now 10lb 14oz, still putting on about 2oz per day. He has been to visit his grandparents in Wetherby and Cardiff this week, including seeing his first football match (no further comment). See if you can spot the photo of the big baby having great fun on his playmat.
Charlie has now been to visit both of our workplaces and as a result has learnt the fundamental accounting concepts and the SMART acronym. I believe he said his first word which sounded like "cake".
My big discovery this week is baby-wearing. It may look a bit silly for a man to wear a sling for some reason, but it is really good fun. I suppose it feels a bit like being pregnant.

Registry, Cord, Playmat and Facecake
Several things to report.
Firstly, we registered the birth yesterday which Lindz found particularly exciting. She thought that the paperwork birth was much less painful than the physical one.

The umbilical cord dropped off today which signifies the end of an era. I don't really know what to do with it now. Any suggestions?
I recorded some video footage of babs on his playmat (see below). He pulls some good expressions during the clip, but saves the best for right at the end...I could watch that bit over and over again!
Other news, I managed to repair my printer using a replacement print head I bought from a facecake supplier who had surplus stock.

Bright eyes
I know this is a bit out of sequence, but I've just re-discovered this video footage from the operating theatre, five minutes after C. was born. This is the first time he opens both of his eyes.
If you find these Youtube clips to be a bit slow and intermittent, try using this accelerator (at your own risk) LINK HERE. It definitely works wonders for me. Otherwise, pause it until you can see that the clip has been fully loaded.

Football Club Allegiance (using science)
Which football club will Charlie support? The scientific way to test this is to use Google maps to check the distance to see which ground is closest to his place of birth. See the results below.

.

If you look closely, the distance to Anfield and Goodison is the same number of miles, although Anfield must be marginally closer as it takes one minute fewer to reach by road. Therefore he is proven to be a Liverpool fan. What a relief!
(Alex, note that I will not be measuring times from Tulsa at any point for your benefit.)
